Spring is Montana’s Best Kept Secret!
Come take advantage of uncrowded rivers and aggressive trout.

If you are like many of us, the itch to get out and fly fish becomes unbearable as winter blows away and spring bursts in. Typically, fly fisherman don’t consider early spring for a fly fishing adventure and we want to change your perceptions. April and May are fantastic times to enjoy our surrounding blue ribbon rivers. The rivers all fish well and are low and clear. You can expect a lot of streamer and nymph fishing, but we do have our share of caddis and mayfly hatches this time of year. You might have even read Greg Thomas’ article on the famous mother’s day caddis hatch in last year’s Fly Fisherman magazine. The hatch is a fantastic highlight for spring fishing. April is a great time to experience Montana as it greens up and you can certainly expect some aggressive feeding from the fish after the long winter.
